This comedy drama is based on the chance encounter between Louise, a widow, mother of two, and Pierre, a stranger she nearly runs over with her car. Louise is struggling to save her late husband’s legacy intact by preserving their organic fruit orchards, despite the farm’s heavy debts.

 Would Pierre be a providential help?

Despite his state of existential loneliness and fascination for numbers, Pierre has an endearing and poetic side. It is a heartwarming film, with the radiant yet earthy countrywoman convincingly brought to life by Virginie Efira. We are reminded that beauty and wealth can be found in minute details of every day life.

 The bilingual introduction and the discussion will be led by Hélène Laroche Davis, Professor of Film Studies.
