-
Alliance Française Silicon Valley, 14107 Winchester Blvd. Suite T, Los Gatos, CA 95032

The Alliance Française Silicon Valley is delighted to host an inspiring literary afternoon with two French authors who will share their stories, journeys, and voices with our community.

Corinne Cotereau and Vanina Joulin-Batejat, both former lawyers in San Diego, will discuss their shift from law to writing.

During the event, the discussion will delve into the themes and inspirations behind their novels, tracing how each author's personal journey has fueled their passion for storytelling. Attendees will discover the intricate ways the French language shapes their literary voices and creative expression, offering a glimpse into the profound connection both writers maintain with their linguistic heritage.

After the discussion, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a book signing and meet the authors in person, making for a memorable and engaging afternoon.

More about the authors and their books:

Corinne Cotereau, a lawyer by training, has changed her career direction multiple times. In February 2020, she settled in as a painter in San Diego, California. During the height of COVID, on a day of despair, providence (and Google Maps) guided her to abandoned railroad tracks. The longest railway bridge in the world awaited her in a photo, yearning to be revitalized. Her imagination did the rest. Providence Canyon, Albin Michel, is her first novel. Purchase her book on Lireka.

Vanina Joulin-Batejat, a Franco-American since 2013, is both bilingual and bicultural. She has resided in the United States and Canada for more than 20 years. As a lawyer, international legal expert, entrepreneur, and consultant specializing in U.S. business establishment, she has navigated a diverse career path that has finally led her to her true passion: writing. Vanina has authored the professional guide Réussir aux USA, along with several short stories. Her debut novel, a humanistic narrative that champions the rights of men, women, and children, has been released in 2025 : À la recherche du sens perdu (Le Lys Bleu Éditions).
