Bilingual
Astronomy & Perseids Meteor Shower Night
🎟️ In French & English
Join us for a magical evening under the stars! For the very first time, the Alliance Française Silicon Valley is hosting a Bilingual Astronomy & Perseids Meteor Shower Night at the breathtaking Monte Bello Open Space Preserve.
Led by astronomy enthusiast Thomas Celerier, this unique night-time event will be held in both French and English, offering a family-friendly opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky and learn about one of the most spectacular celestial events of the year, the Perseids Meteor Shower.
What to expect:
• A bilingual astronomy talk led by Thomas Celerier
• Guided skywatching with star maps and telescopes
• Peak viewing of the Perseids meteor shower
• A chance to connect with nature and the Francophone community
Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or simply curious about the cosmos, this event is not to be missed. Don’t forget your blanket, warm clothes, and a thermos of your favorite night-time drink!
Important Information:
🚗 Parking: Monte Bello Preserve Parking Lot
• Arrive early — parking spots are limited, and no reservations are available (first come, first served).
• We insist that you arrive by 8:30 PM. Access to the preserve closes at 8:45 PM; after that time, no further entry will be
allowed.
🧥What to bring:
• Warm clothing — it can get cold at night, even in summer
• Snacks and water
• A blanket or camping chair
• Binoculars – only one telescope will be available, so if you have your own telescope, even better!
• Flashlight or headlamp (preferably with red light to preserve night vision)
Spaces are limited — registration is required.
Let’s make a wish together under the shooting stars!
From June 15th to September 12th our offices will be open for scheduled classes, events, and by appointment only, resuming our regular business hours on September 15th.
